About This Course

This qualification is designed for public sector professionals and contractors who need to assess
the suitability of people for trusted roles and access. You will learn how to conduct personnel
security assessments, handle sensitive information and apply ethics, legislation and policy in
day-to-day vetting practice.

The course builds practical capabilities to identify and treat risk factors, produce defensible
written reports, and support government agencies and sponsors to meet their obligations under
the Protective Security Policy Framework.

in, or moving into, personnel screening and suitability assessment roles that support security

Course Structure & Packaging Rules

Total: 14 units = 3 core + 11 electives

You must complete one Work Health & Safety elective and
a minimum of six electives from Group B (Personnel Vetting). Remaining electives
can be selected from Groups C/D or other approved units at the same AQF level, in line with
PSP40316 packaging rules.

  • Some roles require an AGSVA security clearance. Training does not grant a clearance; clearances
    are issued to eligible, sponsored applicants under the PSPF.
